Activity Room Application

The Shenandoah County Library (SCL) makes its Activity Room available for use by community groups. Room availability is contingent on there being no conflict with library programs or meetings, which have first priority at all times, and is available only during normal hours of library operation. Groups permitted to use the Activity Room must be non-profit and meeting only for cultural, educational, or civic purposes. The library reserves the right to determine use of the room, to assess fees for use of the room, and to cancel or reschedule all arrangements at its discretion without liability. The Director will exercise his judgment to prevent any one group or individual from monopolizing this resource.  Please keep in mind the following:

  • The fact that a group is permitted to meet at the Shenandoah County Library does not in any way constitute an endorsement of the group's policies and beliefs.
  • Groups may use the name and address of the Shenandoah County Library only as a designation of the location of the meeting and not as the official address or headquarters of the organization. Telephone calls to the library for information about the program will be referred to the person who filled out the application.
  • Advertisements for meetings held in the library may not be displayed in such as manner as to suggest library sponsorship. Library personnel must have free access to the Activity Room at all times. The library retains the right to monitor all meetings conducted on the premises to ensure compliance with the Activity Room Policy.
  • An organization seeking to use meeting facilities must agree to observe the policy and regulations. Failure to abide by the policy and the related regulations will result in cancellation or refusal of reservations.
