Summer Reading Events

Our theme is Dig Into Reading/Dig Into Pot Luck Lunch!

Each Wednesday there will be a Children's Hour from 10:30 - 11:30, with read-alouds, lunch preparation, crafts and library time.

At 11:30, we will present a program of community interest (not restricted to families with children).

At Noon, or when the program ends, we will share a community pot luck lunch which will include the dishes the children have made.

At 1:00, we will end our meal and collectively clean up

Here are the special programs for each Wednesday:

July 3  The FV Rescue squad will tell us how to prepare for and respond to emergencies

July 10 A karate demonstration by Majal Colon-Cammack and her students

July 17 A concert of Americana music by Con and Cash (Burch Con and Michael Cash)

July 24  Bob Allen will display his hand-painted collection of Civil War soldiers, and the FV Museum will talk about their Civil War collection

July 31  Kitty Bryant will present a slide show of local songbirds paired with an audio-collection of their songs

August 7  Berryville farmer Forrest Pritchard will talk about his new book, "Gaining Ground," about making his family farm profitable.

August 14  Our finale will include an open mike with performances by local musicians, and a chance to have your favorite rock identified by our geologist and new library volunteer, Callan Bentley.  Bring your talents and your rocks!
